Many graduates from Nigeria universities believe that once they finish from university that they are hundred of jobs waiting for them to do with no hassle, but that is very far from the truth. The real fact is that there are only few jobs waiting for millions of graduates and jobs seekers and only the best graduates who can defend themselves can actually get employ without much hassle.
Many graduates don’t know that they need to possess some qualities that will make them to stand-out from the crowd. You need to some on yourself to make you unique among other jobs applicant.

What are the basic qualities and characteristics you must possess that will earn you your dream job?
Below are some basic qualities and characteristics you must possess:
- first of all, you must have the best education in Nigeria with good result,
- you should try and graduate with Second Class Upper or Upper Credit in your field of study so that it will make it much easier for you to secure a good job,
- Have a well details resume that will sell you. You should realize that having a well details C.V/resume is very important,
- You should be creative and highly inform – some company would want to know whether you can add value to them if you are employed. So being creative, inform and having innovative ideas is very important,
- Being a computer literate is a must for you,
- You should realize that today’s world is ICT world and you should prepare yourself for that. For instant, if you study Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Building Technology etc you must know how to use AutoCAD and other engineering packages so as to have an edge over others,
- You must be ready to defend your claims (your result, experience etc).

- There are a lot of recruitment agencies that recruits on behalf of their clients. Some of these agencies are free to register, while others, purchasing of access card may be required to access their portal for the information.
- Search for jobs using search engine. Search engine like Google, Yahoo, MSN Bing etc are useful medium for searching for jobs.
- There are a lot of jobs vacancies website that publish latest jobs vacancies, and some of them are free.
- You can visit jobs vacancies forum to search for jobs in Nigeria e.g. http://forum.naijajobslink.com
- You can also submit your resume/data online for employers to search through, but be careful on the site you submit your resume/data because some may use the information against you.
