Nigerian Army SHORT SERVICE COMBATANT for 2010 is out, below are the details:
1. The Nigerian Army invites applications from able bodied and qualified Nigerians for the grant of Short Service Combatant Commission (SSC) as officers into the Nigerian Army. The Short Service Combatant Commission offers an excellent opportunity to young Nigerians who want to have an experience in the Nigerian Army without necessarily having to spend their entire career life in it. The SSC is open to civilians or serving military personnel who must be male by gender.
REQUIREMENT
2. All civilians or serving personnel must satisfy the following conditions:
a. Be a Nigerian as defined in the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
b. Be a male between the age of 24 – 29 years.

1. Applications are invited from suitably qualified Nigerians for commission into the Nigerian Army (NA) as Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) officers for the following NA specialties
a. Medical Corps.
(1) Medical Specialists: Applicants must possess MBBS degree or its equivalent and Post Graduate/Special qualifications. Preference will be given to Obstetricians and Gynecologists, ENT Surgeons, Radiologist, Pediatricians, General Surgeons, Psychiatrists and Anesthetists.
(2) Medical Doctors: Candidates must possess degree registrable with Nigerian Medical and Dental Council e.g MMS, CHB.

Nigerian Army 65th Regular Recruit Intake 2010
Nigerian Army have started recruitment for 65th Regular Recruit Intake for 2010Please read the instruction and qualification requirement:
SECTION A
· Applicants shall be of Nigerian origin by birth
· Applicants are to be recruited in their Zones.
· Applicants must be between the age of 18 and 22 years for Non-Tradesmen/women and 26 years for Tradesmen/women at the time of entry into the Depot NA. For female Applicants, possession of Nursing, Catering, Computer Operations etc certificates has added advantage.
· Applicants must be medically and physically fit and must not be less than 1.65meters tall for men and 1.63meters for women.
· Applicants must be free of any Criminal conviction.
· Applicants must submit all duly completed forms (printed from online portal) at the exam venue on the date of the exam.
The Printed forms shall be accompanied with the following documents
- Photocopies of Birth Certificate/Age Declaration
- Photocopies of academic and professional Certificates.
- A letter of Identification signed by the identifying officer in Section F of the downloaded Certification form.
- Applicants shall be required to produce the originals of all certificates/Credentials and Online Registration Scratch Card purchased during the screening exercise.
- Any applicant suspected to have impersonated, manipulated or submitted false documents shall be disqualified during or after training. Such an applicant shall also be handed over to the Police for Prosecution.
- Candidates whose pictures are not submitted electronically will not be considered for shortlisting.
- The Nigerian Army Shall not entertain any enquires in respect of applicants whose applications are rejected or failed to meet the selection criteria.

NOTICE TO SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATEES FOR THE SELECTION BOARD: NIGERIAN NAVY DIRECT SHORT SERVICE COMMISSION – COURSE 19
1. Names of candidates that were successful at the aptitude test conducted by the Nigerian Navy on the 23rd January 2010 for the Direct Short Service Commission are published on the website: http://service.nigeriannavy.gov.ng
2. Short-listed candidates are to appear before the Selection Board holding at the Nigerian Navy secondary School, Borokiri, Port-Harcourt, from 6th – 17th April 2010. Candidates are required to report for the interview with the following:
(A) Originals and Photocopies of:
(1) Educational/Professional Certificates.
(2) Birth Certificate/Declaration of age
(3) Parent/Guardian Consent form printed online.
(4) Attestation of LGA printed online.
(5) NYSC Discharge Certificate.
(B) A pair of physical training dress with white top and gym (canvas) shoes.
(C) Toiletries.
3. Candidates are to note that accommodation and feeding will be provided at the Nigerian Navy Secondary School, Borokiri, Port-Harcourt, for the duration of the interview only. Candidates are to assemble at the venue not later than 5th April 2010.
